Depelchin Gold Medal

October 16: Drukdra Dorji Penjore, a class 10 Bhutanese student studying in St. Joseph’s School, North Point, Darjeeling, has been awarded the Depelchin Gold Medal. He was awarded the medal today.
The Depelchin Gold Medal is the school’s highest and most prestigious award. Instituted in 1901, the medal is given annually to a student for all round excellence in sports, academics, character, and leadership.
So far only five Bhutanese students have won this award. The last time a Bhutanese student won this award was in 1985.
