Japanese film festival comes to Bhutan

September 15: Film lovers are in for a treat next week because the Embassy of Japan, New Delhi, in coordination with JICAICA Bhutan Office will conduct the 10th Japanese Film Festival in Thimphu, Punakha and Paro.
A ccording to a press release from the embassy, the latest award winning films will be screened for the first time in Bhutan for children and film lovers.
On September 15, the animated film, Summer days with Coo and Tokyo Tower will be screened at the Youth Development Centre (YDF) in Thimphu starting from 4 pm.
The YDF hall will be able to accommodate around 1,000 people.
O n September 16, Always-Sunset on Third Street-2 and Summer days with Coo will be shown at Punakha Higher Secondary School starting from 4 pm in Punakha. And on September 17, Summer days with Coo will be shown at Drugyel Higher Secondary School in Paro.
A ll the films will be screened free of cost. The Japanese Film Festival has been observed in Bhutan since 1998.
