Sheik Hasina on 4-day state visit

October 29: Bhutan and Bangladesh will sign a new trade agreement when the prime minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, visits Bhutan on a three-day state visit from November 6-9.

The chambers of commerce of the two countries will also sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the presence of the prime ministers of the two countries in Thimphu. Bangladesh will also present earthquake relief assistance to Bhutan.
Sheikh Hasina will be received by Lyonchhoen Jigmi Y Thinley at the Paro international airport on November 6 and will be presented with a guard of honour by the royal bodyguards and the royal Bhutan army at the Tashichhodzong in Thimphu on the morning of November 7.

The Bangladeshi prime minister will receive an audience with His Majesty the King on November 7 and lunch at the Dechenchholing palace with His Majesty. Shiekh Hasina will also receive an audience with the His Majesty the fourth Druk Gyalpo and visit the Druk Wangyel lhakhangs and chortens in Dochula.

The ministers of foreign affairs, commerce and industries are part of the 44-member delegation that is accompanying the prime minister on the visit to Bhutan.
